New Aparthotel Brand SeaSpace Launches on Cornwall’s Coast

ipIn November 2023, Another Place secured the expansion of its brand with an agreement to acquire The Machrie hotel and golf course on Islay, Scotland. According to CEO Ben Harper, “The Machrie perfectly complements Another Place, offering a stunning backdrop for relaxing and active getaways.” SeaSpace aparthotel brand launches  with its first property on the site of the former Sands Resort in Cornwall, in summer 2024. SeaSpace: Porth will be the first in a series of coastal aparthotels under the new flag, with discussions underway with investors and developers around growth strategies.

Ben Harper, CEO, Watergate Bay Hotel, Beach Retreats and Another Place, the team behind the brand, said: “The Sands Resort was a much-loved landmark in Cornwall and we are proud to take it into its next phase, giving it a fresh perspective, embedded in the local community.

Travelers crave lifestyle experiences. We’re filling the gap with SeaSpace, offering self-catering freedom with hotel-like hospitality.

“We see a domestic travel boom fueled by exciting new hospitality options that encourage people to explore their own backyards. Travelers are craving coastal getaways, but options are limited. That’s why we’re excited to introduce SeaSpace, offering the perfect solution for your beachside escape.

SeaSpace will draw on the group’s previous success in experience-led lifestyle stays, driven by strong connections to the local community. SCaters to all: visitors, locals, leisure seekers, and business travelers – anyone seeking a beachside recharge.

Flexibility will be at the heart of the stay, with SeaSpace created for the changing way we live our lives. It will offer spaces and experiences for visitors and locals, leisure and business guests, every-one who wants to spend time recharging at the beach.

Five minutes from Porth beach, guests can choose from 56 self-catering studios and apartments (2 & 3 bedrooms) with open-plan layouts, fully-equipped kitchens, and work/dining tables. The flagship location offers 24/7 concierge, housekeeping, and community services, blending apartment living with premium hotel amenities. Light-touch tech operations empower guests for a seamless stay. The resort is expanding with permission for additional apartments and lodges.

Another Place expands with The Machrie hotel and golf course acquisition on Islay, Scotland in November 2023. CEO Ben Harper sees it as a perfect fit, offering a stunning backdrop for getaways. The brand caters to the growing demand for outdoor adventures with stylish relaxation, and plans to add more properties.

“Guests crave outdoor adventures with a touch of style. Another Place is perfectly positioned to meet this growing demand, and we’re excited to expand our portfolio

SeaSpace is now taking bookings for stays from October 2024.
