Daniel Alexander of Tanjung Kelayang Reserve in Indonesia and President of MTPA met Seychelles Consultant Alain St.Ange at ATM in Dubai

Daniel Alexander of Tanjung Kelayang Reserve of Belitung of Indonesia used the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 in Dubai to meet Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Tourism Consultant to possible discuss cooperation.

Belitung of Indonesia and Seychelles have a lot in common as far as the environment and the desire to protect what exists and the discussions at ATM 2024. Daniel Alexander flew into Dubai primarily for this strategic planning meeting with the Head of Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy and the two spent hours looking at possibilities for cooperation as the walked the corridors of ATM 2024. An organised press visit to Belitung for a fact finding mission should be on the cards after Alain St.Ange and Daniel Alexander have looked at cooperation details in a mooted followup meeting to this Indonesian small and protected island.

Also, Donald Payen who was appointed President of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) following the approval of the Council of Ministers of Mauritius during its meeting on March 24, 2023 was leading his island’s delegation at ATM 2024 and met with Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Tourism Consultant who heads his Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy.

Donald Payen of Mauritius and Alain St.Ange of Seychelles have been friends for many years. Payen was at Air Mauritius for some 40 odd years and St.Ange, on his part, rose from the tourism private sector trade to become the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism. Donald Payen who was at ATM with Arvind Bundhun, the CEO of the MTPA of Mauritius and a large number of private sector trade members, was awarded the British Empire Medal at a special ceremony at Westminster House on August 12, 2022. In the past, this seasoned aviation and tourism professional was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit of the French Republic. During their discussions at ATM 2024 Payen and St.Ange analysed tourism as an industry that remains so important for the whole Indian Ocean region and the Vanilla Islands Group.Also present at the Mauritius during the meeting between Donald Payen and Alain St.Ange was Oomar Ramtoola,  the Emirates Airline head for Mauritius and Seychelles.
