UK – The Ascott Limited, one of the world’s leading international hospitality operators, celebrates the opening of Citadines Canal Amsterdam. The character property is located in old weaver’s houses in the historic centre of Amsterdam. The property was acquired by Ascott Serviced Residence Global Fund (ASRGF) in 2021, and has since been renovated, and unveiled as a Citadines apart’hotel. Guests can book a night stay from 165 Euros and those who sign up to the free loyalty programme, Ascott Star Rewards can book a stay from 149 Euros.

Every city is unique! Citadines – which means ‘city dwellers’ in French – caters to travellers seeking a quality urban life in a modern way. Guided by the claim ‘For the love of cities,’ the design and offerings of each property are dedicated to the individual personality of the respective city, aiming to inspire guests. Wherever there’s a Citadines, travellers can experience the best of city life, immerse themselves in the various personalities of each destination, and create lasting memories. With the comfort and privacy of an apartment combined with the flexibility and services of a hotel, our Citadines residences enable guests to ‘live, work, and play’ at their own pace.

Where comfort meets historyCitadines Canal Amsterdam is the latest addition to Citadines, which was acquired by The Ascott Limited in 2004 and has since evolved as a specialist in the world of serviced residences. The brand-new Amsterdam aparthotel is situated in a unique location in the old center: in the 17th-century weaver’s houses known as the Noordse Bos. The cosy and warm design of Citadines Canal Amsterdam is a creation of the renowned interior designer Hilary Lancaster, who drew inspiration from the rich history of these houses. Carefully chosen materials and patterns reflect the weaving process.

Strategically located in the heart of the Weteringbuurt, between the Spiegelgracht and Reguliersgracht, Citadines Canal Amsterdam is an ideal base for a business trip, staycation, or exploration of Amsterdam. Behind the historic facade lies a modern world with comfortably designed apartments. Citadines Canal Amsterdam combines a relaxed home feeling with the convenience and service of a hotel.

There are four types of apartments to choose from, a breakfast service, and a 24-hour reception with complimentary unlimited hot drinks. The aparthotel, with 93 rooms and apartments, is within walking distance of popular attractions, shopping areas, restaurants, and cafes. Metro, train stations, and the airport are easily accessible. Being centrally located, Citadines Canal Amsterdam is the perfect place to stay, whether for a few days or a few months.

In addition to providing a unique experience that reflects the essence of each city, Citadines residences strive to provide guests with a range of facilities to make their stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. Amenities include a well-equipped fitness center, allowing guests to maintain their exercise routine while away from home. For a relaxed atmosphere, there’s a lounge with an honesty bar, perfect for enjoying a drink or snack after a busy day in the city.

All accommodations are air-conditioned to ensure guests a pleasant environment regardless of the weather outside. Furthermore, some studios and apartments feature fully equipped kitchens, giving guests the freedom to choose what they eat and when, providing a true home feeling. And for guests arriving by car, we offer parking with charging points for electric cars, making it easy to travel environmentally consciously. The Amsterdam building has received an A rating on the local EPC (energy performance coefficient).

Addition to the Global Portfolio Rob Broer, Citadines Canal Residence Manager, says: “We are proud to represent our international brand with this new addition in Amsterdam. The aparthotel, which exudes the atmosphere of the weaver’s houses thanks to its beautiful design, will meet all the needs of our guests, whether they are visiting Amsterdam for business or leisure”.

Frédéric Carré, Regional General Manager UK, Germany, Belgium, Georgia, Spain & The Netherlands, adds: “Amsterdam is an attractive location for us, due to its excellent connections with the rest of Europe and the highly educated and skilled workforce that the Netherlands is known for. The brand-new Citadines Canal Amsterdam is a welcome addition to our global portfolio.”

Citadines Canal Amsterdam is the second location of Citadines in Amsterdam. There is also a Citadines located near the Sloterdijk station, called Citadines Amsterdam Sloterdijk.
