NEW YORK – The cities of Zurich and San Francisco are marking the 20th anniversary of their sister-city agreement by bringing a splash of Zurich to San Franciscans through a four-week pop-up campaign that will go through October 8, 2023. San Franciscans can find buses, trams, streetcars and all of Union Station decked out with images of Zurich, with the goal of showcasing Zurich as a premier travel destination and the ultimate hub for exploring Switzerland.
As this year also marks the 20th anniversary of Swiss International Air Lines’ first nonstop flight to Zurich, on October 1, 2023, the airline will host a special pop-up Café Zurich at the 49th Annual Castro Street Fair. The café will feature Nespresso coffee and Lindt chocolate, offering visitors a true taste of Zurich. Visitors will also be able to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for two to Switzerland, which includes flights, accommodations, a Zürich Card and excursions. The trip is sponsored by Swiss International Air Lines, Sorell Hotels Zurich, the Lindt Home of Chocolate, and Zürich Tourism.
Furthermore, Zürich Tourism has launched a companion digital campaign, including a new package in collaboration with Avanti Destinations and AAA.
