Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Tourism Consultant who is this week in Uganda for the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) paid a courtesy call on Wolfgang Thome of ATC News this morning. The two have been friends for many years and have always followed each others work and involvement in tourism.
The “Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo” (Poate) is regarded as East Africa’s Premier Tourism Event and the Seychelles tourism personality and the island’s former Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Minister is in Uganda at the invitation of Minister Tom R. Butime, the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.
He is set to be joining other members of the African Tourism Board’s delegation traveling to Uganda for this important tourism event.
St.Ange who was the founding President of the African Tourism Board, today heads his very own “Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy” working with Tourism Boards and Ministries of Tourism in Africa and the ASEAN Block in relooking at Tourism as a vital economic industry and also to raise the visibility of tourism destinations in order to be better able to remain competitive at their main tourism source markets was welcomed by Wolfgang Thome and his wife Esther at their Kampala home. “It was so nice to catch up with a great friend and enjoy their family hospitality. We reminised on our different meeting over the last so many years with a special look at Tourism as it stands today” said Alain St.Ange, before adding that the years of experience of key tourism players should never be allowed to be ignored.
