Suntransfers was established in 2008 to provide low-cost, high quality airport transfers for travellers in the Costa Brava region where the company’s founders lived. The company’s B2C business grew rapidly over the next few years leading to the team tripling in size and relocating to bigger premises. In 2014, Suntransfers extended its focus on the B2B sector by establishing crucial trade partnerships and introducing shared shuttles as part of the company’s product portfolio. Today, Suntransfers today provides an unrivalled choice of vehicles, premium and airport transport services to B2B and B2C clients from more than 500 airports and travel gateways worldwide, serving over 12,000 popular destinations worldwide.
The company currently employs 65 people who work out of Suntransfers’ offices in Torroella de Montgrí, Barcelona and in the UK.
Suntransfers reduces complexity and cost by contracting directly with transport operators wherever possible. The company’s services are available to book in eight languages – with more being added each month – while support is provided by a client services team who speak a total of 17 languages, with most staff being at least trilingual. The company’s client service team is available 24/7/365 days a year and manages around 400,000 bookings per annum.
In 2022, Suntransfers was acquired by Lancashire based ground transport, accommodation, and Business Continuity specialists, CMAC Group. In February 2024 CMAC Group was acquired by Singapore based Ground Transportation giant ComfortDelgro.
