GREENWICH, CT – metrica, a 300-year-old global leader in the luxury superyacht and residential interiors segment, announce its acquisition of Massachusetts-based VCA. VCA is renowned for its cutting-edge fabrication of custom furniture and architectural millwork production and will seamlessly complement metrica’s globally renowned suite of services.
“We are proud to welcome VCA’s team to metrica,” said Mark Mantione, CEO of metrica North America. “Like metrica, VCA is renowned for its technical expertise, sensitivity to design, and collaborative spirit. Our shared passion for solving unique challenges and delivering extraordinary results makes this both a meeting of passionate professionals and dedicated artisans.”
For centuries, metrica has built a reputation as the premiere provider of extraordinary interiors and unparalleled craftsmanship and has become a trusted source for high-end clientele, architects and interior designers looking for a preeminent luxury interiors outfitter. Like metrica, VCA is known for its superlative craftsmanship and superior customer service and has cemented a legacy for unmatched quality from design through delivery. metrica’s acquisition of VCA underscores the company’s expanding footprint in the U.S. and its work in markets such as Manhattan, Beverly Hills, San Francisco Bay Area, Palm Beach and Miami.
The acquisition of VCA will also support metrica’s expansion into the ultra-luxury furniture production category. In 2021, metrica launched its furniture fabrication division, exclusively bringing designs to life for architects and designers such as Joan Behnke, Rémi Tessier, and Nicole Hollis. VCA’s reputation for veneering, upholstery, carving, turning, metalwork, leatherwork, and CNC machining as well as finishing and materials work will expand metrica’s capacity and cement its place as both the U.S. and global leader in ultra-luxury millwork and fabrication.
“VCA has always sought to produce world-class work and we are thrilled that our friends at metrica agree,” said former VCA president and co-owner Bruce Volz. “I can think of no better hands to leave VCA in than metrica’s.”
As part of the acquisition, metrica will assume direction of VCA’s 28-person team and production facilities in Northampton, Massachusettes.
