SEATTLE – Giving Bag, the eco-conscious recycling and donation solution for global hospitality brands, has announced a partnership with Alila Hotels & Resorts worldwide, adding more than a dozen locations throughout the Asia Pacific portfolio, with other regions to follow in the future. The innovative amenity has been implemented in 15 countries, building a global network of hotels, brands, and travelers committed to sustainable travel practices and community impact.
The multi-award winning charitable amenity partners with independent and branded hotels around the world, collecting guests’ and properties’ unwanted items and donating them to nonprofits and community organizations in need. Participating Alila properties are equipped with a designated bag where guests can deposit unwanted clothing, shoes, books, single-use hotel items, and other lifestyle accessories, which are then collected by Alila staff members and delivered to hand-selected organizations benefiting the surrounding neighborhood. Each Giving Bag is then reused and placed back in guestrooms for the next traveler. This global partnership marks a new era of collaboration between Giving Bag and one of the world’s leading hospitality brands, a simple yet impactful way to connect travelers with local communities, encouraging sustainable travel behavior for generations to come.

“We are proud to deepen our relationship with Hyatt in expanding the adoption of Giving Bag to Alila brand hotels around the world,” said Giving Bag Co-Founder and CEO Quinn Cox. “The passion and creativity of Alila helps further reinforce the meaningful positive impact it can have on local communities, as well as our environment, by connecting gently used items with those in need rather than unnecessarily going to landfill.”
Through its regional World of Care goals, Hyatt is committed to advancing environmental action so that destinations around the world are vibrant for colleagues, guests, customers, owners, investors, and communities. According to Giving Bag, 25% of items in hotels’ lost and found are left on purpose. With the introduction of Giving Bag, not only do items purposely left behind bypass the lost and found, but guests are excited to contribute to the local communities. The global partnership between the Alila brand and Giving Bag reflects Alila’s focus on evolved luxury—the luxury of deeper connections to oneself, the world, and others, as well as property commitments to sustainability, community engagement and responsible tourism practices.
“Our expanded partnership with Giving Bag is a perfect example of how travelers can leave a positive impact on a travel community,” said Marco Groten, Regional Vice President South East Asia Operations. “Alila believes that sustainable practices and respect for the earth always come first, and the guests we serve strive to make a positive impact in their own travel experiences.”
