The newest Four Seasons resort in Mexico welcomes guests to Tierra Mar Spa along Cabo’s famous Golden Corridor, a sanctuary of wellness and rejuvenation designed to elevate the luxury experience for guests. Reflecting the Modern Hacienda vibe of the Resort, the new Tierra Mar spa combines state-of-the-art facilities and innovative treatments with traditional roots and the serene beauty of the Baja California landscape for a holistic wellness experience.

The 15,000 square foot (1374 square metre) indoor and outdoor state-of-the-art spa features 10 treatment rooms with private gardens, including two couple’s suites and a signature spa suite, his and her hydrotherapy circuits with salt saunas and eucalyptus steam rooms, shared relaxion gardens, a fitness centre and lap pool designed in partnership with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, and a full-service luxury salon.

Design

Designed by the award-winning multidisciplinary design studio led by Will Meyer and Gray Davis, Meyer Davis, Tierra Mar immerses guests in a sensory experience from the entry to the treatment rooms.

Meyer Davis designed the spa’s entrance to set the tone of timelessness and simplicity. Through intricately designed rod iron gates, guests are greeted by the peaceful running water of a mosaic waterfall, which pays homage to the local craftsmanship and artistry of the Cabo region. Inside, guests are welcomed into a spacious lobby featuring vaulted ceilings lined with wooden beams. Full-height picture windows frame the exterior courtyards, offering isolated sensory experiences that set the stage for complete relaxation.

Natural interior finishes play a pivotal role in enhancing the spa’s sensory experience. Locally-sourced Ojinaga limestone floors and accents imbue the space with a sense of grounding tranquillity, while reclaimed wood elements add warmth and character to every corner. Woven textiles adorn plush seating areas and treatment rooms, offering a tactile connection to the rich cultural tapestry of Cabo. Artwork curated by Mexico City-based art consultants Uribe Krayer ties the interior spaces together, creating an ambiance of serene sophistication.

The interior styling of the spa epitomizes understated luxury, with carefully curated accessories that evoke a sense of coastal charm. From artisanal pottery showcasing Indigenous motifs to bespoke lighting fixtures inspired by the ocean’s rhythmic waves, every detail has been thoughtfully selected to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

Spa Treatments

Tierra Mar Spa offers bespoke body treatments and massages that artfully combine a range of international techniques, ensuring a truly unparalleled experience for each guest that engages all five senses. Each journey begins with a sound healing ritual, using soothing soundscapes to harmonize the mind and body, creating a deep sense of tranquillity. The ambiance is enriched with scents of locally-sourced essential oils to stimulate and invigorate the senses.

Every treatment room is named after a native Mexican plant, reflecting the spa’s deep connection to local flora. All massages are meticulously tailored to individual needs, blending a variety of techniques from around the world rather than adhering strictly to traditional methods. One highlight is the use of the rebozo, a traditional Mexican shawl, in some massages, which enhances relaxation and provides therapeutic benefits through gentle, rhythmic movements.

A distinctive feature across all treatments is the incorporation of custom-made Tierra Mar products, uniquely developed exclusively for the spa by Director Ale Bustamante using ingredients native to Mexico. Facials include the precision-driven 111SKIN line by Dr. Yannis Alexandrides, and Apotheca Mía, a distinguished Mexican brand harnessing the potent benefits of indigenous flora and ozone. The luxury salon elevates beauty rituals with nontoxic Dazzle Dry polish, cruelty-free Davines haircare, and sustainable products from Guadalajara-based Xixanthe.

Fitness Facility

The neighbouring fitness facility features an indoor-outdoor fitness terrace with sweeping views of the beach and ocean, in addition to a yoga room and relaxation fitness pool designed to promote peace, quiet and seclusion for spa guests.
