Today, ERA was awarded the International Organisation Award as part of the 2023 Regional Air Transport Awards. The association was honoured for its contribution in helping and advancing regional co-operation – both at a European and global level, and for boosting regional economies through promoting air connectivity.
Montserrat Barriga, Director General, ERA said: “Co-operation is a key part of ERA’s ethos. We enable collaboration among our varied network of members, providing co-operative business opportunities and networking platforms, while debating issues impacting our industry and joining our resources for the common good. Equally, ERA is committed to supporting regional aviation in leading the transition to decarbonising our industry; but to achieve this we need to work collectively, both within the European and global aviation ecosystem, to ensure all efforts are being made to reach net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050.”
The awards took place as part of the ATN Regional Air Transport Conference. The event, which Barriga also provided a keynote speech at, focussed on boosting regional economy through sustainable development and discussed the symbiotic relationship between the expansion of air travel and sustainable development.
