BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – The World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA) announced the return of the Brazilian Association of Travel Agents (ABAV) as its newest member, further boosting its global representation of travel advisors and travel agents. As the largest entity representing the interests of travel agencies in Brazil, ABAV’s addition solidifies and expands WTAAA’s presence in South America.
With a mission to promote national tourism development and defend the legitimate interests of the travel industry, ABAV serves as the voice for travel agencies in Brazil. “ABAV has a deep understanding of the Brazilian travel industry and will contribute invaluable expertise as we work together to establish consistent global standards, open new opportunities, and ensure travel agencies have a powerful united voice on issues impacting their businesses worldwide,” says Otto de Vries, Executive Director of WTAAA.
Representing ABAV at the WTAAA table are ABAV Director Mrs Ana Carolina Medeiros and ABAV Deputy Director Mr Marcelo M. Oliveira.
“ABAV returns to WTAAA with great enthusiasm. We recognise this global travel agency body as the ideal forum to advocate for travel agencies, including addressing unfair supplier competition and providing training and networking opportunities. This helps strengthen ABAV’s position as the leading representative of travel agencies in Brazil,” says Mr Oliveira.
“WTAAA’s global presence and expertise will complement our local insights as we collaborate to shape a sustainable, agent-friendly Brazilian travel industry,” he concludes.
