Atlantic Airways will once again be operating a non-stop service between London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and Vagar Airport (FAE) in the Faroe Islands. This twice-weekly flight will operate every Tuesday and Saturday from 31 May until 30 August 2025.
The route provides a super convenient way to reach the stunning North Atlantic archipelago located halfway between Scotland and Iceland. The flights will be operated by a modern Airbus A320 aircraft and make the trip in just over two hours. Atlantic Airways also operates direct flights between Edinburgh and the Faroe Islands.
Drifting in the rhythmic swirl of the North Atlantic Ocean lies a world apart – a place unlike any other on Earth. Nestled peacefully between lush green valleys, towering basalt cliffs, vast treeless moors, and waterfalls that cascade directly into the windswept ocean, the Faroe Islands are a hidden sanctuary of unimaginable beauty, reminiscent of a child’s fantasy world.
The 18 rugged volcanic islands that make up the Faroe archipelago resemble a handful of stones scattered randomly in the deep sea. Home to mythical mountains, charming turf-covered houses, and grazing sheep, the islands will engage all of your senses with a calming stillness and raw beauty.
Yet, the islands are also a thrill-seeker’s paradise, offering plenty of adrenaline-pumping activities on land and water.
All of this, and so much more, makes the Faroe Islands a unique and inimitable destination at the edge of the world – a place truly untouched, undiscovered and simply extraordinary.
Atlantic Airways is the national airline of the Faroe Islands, operating domestic helicopter services and international passenger services as well as search and rescue responsibilities from its base at Vágar Airport, on the Faroese island of Vágar.
