Hotel management company Aqua-Aston Hospitality opened Fairfield Inn & Suites Tempe and TownePlace Suites Tempe, two brands under one roof in Tempe, Arizona. Led by California-based EKN Development, the four-story, 80,816 square-foot property shares common spaces – including The Way Station restaurant and bar, outdoor pool and hot tub and 24/7 fitness center. While 83 guest rooms at Fairfield Inn & Suites cater to short-term leisure travelers, the 65 guest rooms at TownePlace Suites Tempe are thoughtfully designed for extended stays. Located across from bustling mixed-use retail hub Tempe Marketplace, the property is within close proximity to numerous shopping, dining and entertainment destinations, with Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport a 15-minute drive away.
“Expansion to the continental United States remains a priority for Aqua-Aston Hospitality, and this opening marks a key moment for our brand as we showcase our management services and continued partnership with the Marriott portfolio in providing unparalleled hospitality,” said Andrea Mue, Managing Director of Aqua-Aston Hospitality.
Tempe is a vibrant, fast-growing community in the heart of spring training facilities and home to Arizona State University (ASU). It’s known for its charming downtown with sporting venues, museums, theaters, and a spirited nightlife scene. Notable nearby sports venues include Sloan Park, well known as the Chicago Cubs spring training center, and ASU’s Mountain America Stadium, home of the Sun Devils and host to some of the best football games for over four decades.
Rooms at Fairfield Inn & Suites Tempe offer the best of both a thriving metropolis and access to the Valley of the Sun for the on-the-go traveler. Categories include King Bed and Double Queen Bed Standard Guest Rooms complete with spacious living and sitting areas and functional workspaces, as well as 1-bedroom King Bed Suites with a separate living room, sofa bed, mini fridge and microwave. For longer stays, the well-appointed suites at TownePlace Suites Tempe provide comfortable options, each with Elfa closet systems, full kitchens and living areas, on a separate wing of the property. Studio configurations include rooms with both a King and Queen-sofa bed or a Double Queen option. For more space, guests can upgrade to a 1-bedroom King Bed Suite featuring a separate living room and Queen-sofa bed.
Dining at the property’s on-site restaurant The Way Station nods to the rugged charm of the Old West where guests can enjoy indoor and open-air seating inviting the outdoors in. Newly appointed Chef Eugene Owens leads the overarching culinary program encompassing lunch and dinner, with signature dishes including braised short rib with stone ground cheese grits, seared mojo prawns served on a bed of pineapple coconut rice and homemade turkey chili with silver dollar corn cakes. A selection of local brews are available alongside a menu of innovative, yet refreshing craft cocktails. Hotel guests also receive a complimentary hot breakfast in the lobby. Additionally, an around-the-clock on-site market is a convenient choice for guests.
Shared amenities for both hotels include an outdoor pool, hot tub and covered pool deck with a firepit that takes center stage. Guests can lounge under the desert sky and enjoy a lively setting activated with weekly dynamic DJ and live music performances, complemented by year-round programming. Unlimited grab-and-go coffee, free parking, Wi-Fi access, pet-friendly accommodations, on-site laundry, an expansive gym open 24/7 and business center are other perks travelers can look forward to. The property also shares a flexible 2,176-square-foot meeting room ideal for corporate or networking events especially with the hotel’s surrounding landmarks.
“Our hotels provide an ideal home base for our diverse customer base – from Arizona State University families to energetic sports fans in town for popular events like Major League Baseball spring training season, NASCAR at ISM Raceway and the Waste Management Phoenix Open” said Victor Patterson, General Manager of Fairfield Inn & Suites Tempe and TownePlace Suites Tempe.
In celebration of the hotel’s opening, Marriott Bonvoy members receive an exclusive offer of 2,000 bonus points per stay when booking at Fairfield Inn & Suites Tempe and 3,000 bonus points per stay at TownePlace Suites Tempe. Travelers can also secure a $25 food and beverage credit at The Way Station when reserving a separate opening offer.
